Harbour
A ship is safest at harbour,
swayed only by the gentle tides,
and steadied by careful knots,
where the stillness feels like safety.
But that stillness was not meant for us.
For our restless hearts eager for adventure,
and our open minds forever looking beyond.
We were not made to be bound in place.
We were born to risk, to discover, to wonder,
to chase our callings into depths unknown,
knowing that nothing we yearn for lies in the shallows.
We know comfort is not the same as peace,
that safety is not the same as living,
and what we seek cannot be found
on the stillness of the shore.
A ship may be safest at harbour,
but that is not
what ships are made for.
